What's this Challenge about?
I started making teddy bears when I was a student at the fashion
collage. After the graduation, I continued making them
while working for apparel business. There I saw bunch of brand items
getting disposed of and also felt pitiful of my friends
throwing their used clothes away.
I decided to make teddy bears using memorable clothes that are torn or
no longer fits. Collecting them and
putting them together in one teddy bear.
Give again a birth to the old clothes and the teddy bears connect
persons to persons which finally makes a
community of their memories.
By this process, I hope to spread an idea to use one thing with care
for a long time as a peaceful protest to
the fast-fashion based society.
The first place I chose to spread the idea is New York.
I recall my once visiting New York where artists there appreciated
using items with care for a long time.
I really want to make your precious memory into a teddy bear and hold
a solo show in New York.
Let's go to New York together.
