‘Invisible Waves’ Project Team
The team consists of seven members, including Hideo Furukawa (novelist), Keijiro Suga (poet), and Mizuho Ishida (poet). The other members of the team are editors and translators who work with these authors.

Hideo Furukawa
Novelist. He made his debut with 13 in 1998. His principal works are The Arabian Nightbreeds (won the Mystery Writers of Japan Award and SF Grand Prize), LOVE (won the Mishima Yukio Award) and Holy Family. He has been working on audio books and release CDs and DVDs of his works. One of his masterpiece Beruka, Hoenainoka? was translated and published overseas: Alors Belka, tu n’aboies plus ? (Éditions Philippe Picquier, France), Belka, Why Don’t You Bark? (VIZ media, USA),and Belka (Sellerio, Italy). It was also translated in Korean, and the Russian edition is on its way. In May 2013, his ‘mega novel’ Rock & Roll 21 Sutras (Kawade Shobo Shinsha, Publishers) was published. His latest work is a play Trying Sleeping with a Hibernating Bear (Shinchosha, a staging directed by Yukio Ninagawa)
Keijiro Suga
Poet, scholar in comparative literature, professor at Meiji University. His principal works are Columbus’ Dog,, The Moon When the Wolves Run Together, (both from Kawade Shobo Shinsha, Publishers), Omniphone (Iwanami Shoten, Publishers), Transversal Journeys (Inscript, won the Yomiuri Prize for Literature), Wild Philosophy (co-written with Keiichi Koike, Kodansha), and On Tenses (poem collection, Sayusha). He is also active in translation with works including Edouard Glissant’s Poétique de la Relation (Inscript), Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio’s La Fête chantée (Iwanami Shoten, Publishers), and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Le Petit Prince (Kadokawa Corporation) He contributed his poem Les vagues absentes to L’Archipel des séismes (Éditions Philippe Picquier), an anthology compiled in France after the Great East Japan Earthquake. As a poet, he was invited to Stanford University, Slovenia, Serbia to read his poems.
Mizuho Ishida
Poet. He won the 37th Gendaishi Techo Prize in 1999. He founded a poetry magazine, “(f)orpoets” aiming at multi-genre collaboration under a keyword, poiesis.
After appearing in the TV program on poem and art, “Edge – in Search the future” (SKY Perfect TV), he worked as event director for “Edge in café.” In 2006, his first collection of poems On Fragmentsints was published from Shityosya as part of the new poets series. He won the 63rd Mr. H Award in 2013, with his second collection of poem Sleepy Island (Shityosya), which is equivalent to the Akutagawa Prize. He is a Buddhist monk of in the Chizan school of the Shingon sect.
