Born in Takashima, Shiga, on the day that is celebrated as “Culture Day” in Japan. She was introduced to sword dance at a young age by her grandmoth-er Magari Seishi and her father Magari Seiga. Graduated from Shiga Universi-ty’s Faculty of Economics, and worked for Nidec Corporation, before devoting herself to school activities since 2010. Established Samurai Kenbu Co., Ltd. (now Gimbu Co., Ltd.) in Kyoto in 2014, and began to engage in the promotion of sword dance also outside the school, and in the training of specialized per-sonnel. Graduated from the Japanese Traditional Culture Course at the Dis-tance Learning Department of the Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2017, and will appear in the movie “Sengoku Girl & Kendo Boy,” to be released in the fall of 2020. She currently lives in Kyoto.
